Get into the spooky spirit by walking through our Haunted Garden. From the 24th of October, Vandeleur Walled Garden will be transformed into a cob-web-covered, ghastly graveyard! Our tombstones will have you dying with laughter, featuring pun-filled inscriptions that are drop-dead funny. Bring the whole family for a ghoulishly good time!

Arts & Gasps: A Petrifying Ceramic Pumpkin Painting Workshop
Join us at the Vandeleur Walled Garden & Visitor Centre this Halloween season for an Arts & GASPS Workshop! Children can design and paint their very own ceramic pumpkin masterpiece in a fun, festive setting. Workshops run from Monday, October 26th to Friday, October 30th. Halloween Ceramic Painting workshops will run two times daily on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday at 11am & 3pm. The workshops will run three times daily on Thursday at 11am, 1pm & 3pm. Come make something BOO-tiful with us! The cost is €10 per child and children must be accompanied by an adult. Ceramic pumpkin figurine, paints, and paintbrushes included. Spaces are limited. Suitable for children aged 3 and up.
Please note: A parent or guardian holding a valid Local Access Pass may accompany their child free of charge. However, due to space limitations, only one parent or guardian with a Local Access Pass may accompany each child into The Workshop. Normal admission rates and Local Access Passes apply.
The Screech Walk Returns
For those with nerves of steel, the Screech Walk offers spine-tingling encounters and unexpected scares designed especially for older children who dare to tread its path. For those who don’t appreciate jump-scares, our Haunted Garden will be the setting for a mysterious trail that winds past gravestones and hidden secrets, perfect for curious explorers. Families can also look forward to creative fun with ceramic pumpkin painting and a pumpkin carving demo.
No celebration would be complete without stories, and we are delighted to welcome back the renowned storyteller Eddie Lenihan, who will join us on Tuesday with two storytelling sessions at 11am and 2pm. Visitors arriving in costume will find the perfect spot to capture their Halloween look at our themed photo booth! And if you’ve forgotten your costume — never fear! We will have face painting available on Thursday & Friday from 12 – 2pm.
